Cinque Terre is five villages strung along the Italian Riviera, connected by coastal trails and a short train line — compact enough to see in a few days, beautiful enough to justify building a whole trip around.
Suggested Route (3–4 Days)
- Day 1 — Monterosso & Vernazza: The two most photographed villages, connected by an easy coastal walk.
- Day 2 — Corniglia & Manarola: Quieter villages, perfect for a slower pace and sunset views.
- Day 3 — Riomaggiore: The southernmost village, with the famous “Via dell’Amore” path (check trail status before you go).
- Day 4 (optional) — La Spezia or Portovenere: Easy extensions if you have extra time.
Visa & Entry Notes
Italy is part of the Schengen Area — pairs naturally with a broader Italy or Western Europe itinerary on a single visa.
Best Time to Visit
Late April–June and September are ideal — warm enough to enjoy the coast, without the peak-summer crowds that overwhelm the narrow village streets.
